IN PHOTOS: Devastation around Malta after “one of the worst” storms in history

This morning, following last weekend’s epic storm, the Maltese Islands looked like a set from one of the notorious Hangover movies. As everyone emerged from the safety of their homes, scenes ranged from miscellaneous debris scattered along the roads to uprooted trees, building materials and broken glass, with clean-up crews barely able to meet the demand.

While areas along the coast seem to have borne the brunt of the damage, various other cases were reported across the islands. Here are some of the worst we came across throughout the day.

St George’s Bay in St Julian’s was covered in everything from deckchairs to car tyres
