Hop on! Old Maltese bus map from the '60s will hit you right in the nostalgic feels
Malta's public transport system has undergone quite a few radical changes over the past half century. The iconic yellow bus, or xarabank as it's referred to in Maltese, were especially popular and since they were replaced by a more modern fleet, they have become a prime symbol of nostalgia.
But way before the yellow buses with cardboard numbers stuck to the windshield toured our streets, public transport was all colour coded depending on the destination of the bus. Check out this bus map from the '60s: heading towards Birkirkara? Take the red one. Want to visit Qormi? Take the yellow one ...without the orange stripe mind you!
