Hold off on that car wash! First weekend of February brings possible blood rain and thunderstorms to Malta and Gozo
A strong southeasterly wind from the Sahara is expected!

January seemed to have brought the Maltese Islands what’s known as fool’s spring, with higher than usual temperatures and barely any rain, save for the past few days. But February seems to be shaping up quite differently!

Malta Weather has reported that a strong sirocco wind from the Sahara is expected to reach force 7 on tomorrow, Saturday 1st February, bringing with it desert dust and blood rain with thunder between Saturday and Sunday. So if you were planning a weekend car wash, you might want to hold off on that for now!

Next week is also expected to bring more rain, with a chance of showers showing up everyday in the forecast so far. Daytime temperatures aren’t expected to decrease too much, remaining at an average maximum of 17°C, although toward the end of the week, the nighttime real feel temperature might just dip to a frosty 7°C!

Are you hoping for a rainy February?
