History made! Maltese footballer becomes youngest player to debut for Chesterfield FC

Malta’s footballing future is shining with promise, thanks to the exceptional talent of 16-year-old Gunner Elliott. The young forward has made headlines by becoming the youngest player to debut for Chesterfield FC in nearly 90 years.

Gunner Elliott took to the pitch in the League Two match against Fleetwood Town on Thursday, showcasing his energy and hunger to prove himself at a professional level.

Elliott’s debut is not only a milestone for Chesterfield but also for Malta, as he becomes the second-youngest player in the club’s history. His impressive achievement places him in an exclusive group of young talents, with only one other player, Luke Dimech, having previously represented Malta at the U-17 level while playing in League Two, having featured for Mansfield Town, Chester City, and Macclesfield.
