The Department of Malta recently took to social media to reveal an interesting piece of history from the heart of Floriana – the enchanting San Filippu Garden.

Situated alongside the Argotti Garden, this green oasis holds a timeless treasure: Alof de Wignacourt's fountain, a heritage dating back to 1622.

Initially gracing St George Square in Valletta, the fountain found its new home in San Filippo Garden during the era of British rule. The relocation marks a chapter of cultural continuity, preserving the historical essence of Malta.

As visitors stroll through the gardens of Floriana, they are not just surrounded by nature's beauty but can also marvel at the rich tapestry of Malta's past, where each monument tells a story of heritage and resilience.

Have you ever been to the San Filippu Garden in Floriana?
