Healing haven! Therapeutic farm ‘Razzett l-Hena’ opens at St Vincent de Paul in Luqa
Nature meets therapy!

Francesca Vella

The St Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility located in Luqa has recently had an exciting addition to their centre for geriatric care - a therapeutic farm offering a joyful and relaxing space for residents and visitors alike.

This is designed to be place where the residents can spend some quality time with their loved ones, while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of fresh air and friendly animals, which include a horse, donkey, sheep, rabbits and birds, all of which are housed in their own sections on the farm.

Studies show that interacting with animals reduces stress, anxiety, and depression while helping those with dementia reconnect and reminisce about past experiences. And for visiting families, there’s also a dedicated play area where children can have fun while spending time with their elderly relatives.

And if you’re a cat lover, here’s the cherry on top! As part of this project, the cat café near the farm has been renovated, offering another space to enjoy the company of some adorable four-legged friends.

Have you visited the farm yet?
