Gozitan artist Manuel Farrugia goes international as a finalist in the Laudamus Award for Sacred Art
The international competition offers a first place prize of £25,000

The work ‘Saint Francis in Ecstasy’ by Gozitan artist Manuel Farrugia has been selected as one of the ten finalists in the international competition Laudamus Award.

As reported by the Times of Malta, Manuel Farrugia’s painting was chosen from over 1,200 submissions from 48 countries.

The Gozitan artist is best known for his Acts of Mercy murals residing in the Parish church of St George in Rabat, one of which features the migrant Lassana Cisse.

The Laudamus Award 2024 for Sacred Art is organised by Christian Art. The winner will be selected by public vote, and will be announced in mid-June.

We wish Manuel Farrugia the best of luck in the final round of this competition!
