Malta’s Artistic Swimming team will soon make waves abroad as it sets out to compete at the World Championships being held in Doha, Qatar this year.

The team which consists of Ana Culic, Thea Grima Buttigieg and Emily Ruggier will be competing in this prestigious competition between the 2nd and 18th February.

All three of these talented swimmers will be competing under the guidance of lead coach Michelle Hubner and assistant coach Hannah Preca Tripani.

Thea and Emily are set to compete in the duet events while Ana will perform in the solo events.

You can see Ana competing in the ‘women solo tech’ event at 7am on the 2nd February and the ‘women solo free’ at 7:30am on the 4th February.

Emily and Thea will compete in the ‘women duet tech’ event at 12am on the 2nd February and the ‘women duet free’ at 7:30pm on the 7th February.

While this is the first experience for Thea and Emily at the senior World Championships, it is Ana’s third time.

Additionally, these World Aquatics Championships are a Qualifying Event for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Thus, we could soon perhaps even see them competing in the Olympics!

29th January 2024
