Goal! Maltese footballer scores first goal for AFC Fylde in the FA Women’s National League
Ylenia Carabott marked her 50th appearance in English football in style, scoring her first goal for AFC Fylde. The Maltese forward was in the starting lineup as her team faced Stockport County in the FA Women’s National League.
Ylenia sealed the win for AFC Fylde with their third goal, a well-placed low shot that found the back of the net, securing a comfortable victory for her new club.
Ylenia Carabott joined AFC Fylde this summer after a stint with London Seaward, where she made 18 appearances across the first team and reserve squad. Prior to that, she also played for Gillingham Women, featuring in eight matches, and for Keynsham Town, where she appeared in 19 games.
This victory was AFC Fylde’s first of the season, following a draw against Barnsley and defeats to Leeds United and Middlesbrough in previous matches. Up next, they’ll host Chorley in a cup tie this Sunday.
Congratulations to Ylenia on her milestone and impressive performance!
