Game on! Team Malta revealed for second edition of Malta Invitational Games this weekend

The Maltese Olympic Committee has officially announced the selection of Team Malta for the much-anticipated second edition of the Malta Invitational Games, taking place this weekend at the National Pool, the Cottonera Pool Complex, Santa Lucia Secondary School and the National Sport School in Pembroke. The event, which kicks off this afternoon, will feature young athletes under 15 and under 18 from across the globe.

This year’s Malta Invitational Games will see 200 athletes from 16 nations competing in Badminton, Taekwondo, Swimming, and Waterpolo. The event provides a platform for these talented young athletes to showcase their skills on home turf, while gaining valuable competitive experience that will help pave the way for future international success.

Below is the list of young athletes selected to take part in the games this weekend:

Badminton

The inaugural edition of the Games, held in October 2022, welcomed 180 athletes from 10 countries, including Andorra, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Luxembourg, Montenegro, San Marino, and Malta. The sports programme in 2022 featured Bowling, Taekwondo, and Triathlon.
