The Gozitan allure spreads worldwide!

It may come as no surprise to locals and seasoned visitors who know of Gozo’s allure, but now the island’s charm has been placed in the global spotlight! Condé Nast Traveller has recently introduced Gozo to its 2.2 million followers, featuring it in its list of ‘17 Secret European Islands to Put on Your Radar’ – a well-deserved recognition indeed!

In its feature, Gozo’s standout attraction is described as its ‘sparkling coves’, including one steeped in myth and legend. According to Homer’s ‘Odyssey’, the island of Ogygia – a believed by some to be Gozo – is where the Greek hero Odysseus encountered the nymph Calypso.

Condé Nast Traveller highlights how this rugged island surrounded by cerulean waters forms the perfect backdrop for myths and legends – and for films’. Over the years, Gozo has served as a setting various fictional worlds, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s ‘By the Sea’ and the epic feature of the Azure Window (sadly no longer with us) in the memorable first episode of the series ‘Game of Thrones’.

Beyond its legendary landscapes, the article also celebrates Gozo’s unique flavours, recommending a post-swim sip of Kinnie, followed by indulgent plates of sea urchin spaghetti and a traditional Gozitan ftira topped with sliced potatoes – yum!

With its enchanting beauty, rich history, and irresistible flavours, Gozo is no longer just a local favourite – it’s officially a must-visit hidden gem on the world’s travel map!

When's your next trip to the sister island?
