From films to fries! Burger King is moving to Sliema’s iconic former Majestic Theatre in St Anne’s Square
Sliema is getting a fresh slice of foodie nostalgia as Burger King officially relocates to the old Majestic Theatre building in St Anne Square – and doors are opening soon!
The move comes two months after Food Chain Limited announced the closure of the Sliema Ferries Seafront outlet (just beside the Sliema Parish Church of Jesus of Nazareth), teasing an ‘exciting relocation’ without revealing the new spot. Now it’s official: the brand is taking over one of Sliema’s most recognisable façades.
Built around 1908, the Majestic Cinema Theatre (once known as the Harding Cinematograph) is believed to be one of Malta’s earliest purpose-built cinemas. While the auditorium and foyer eventually made way for The Plaza Shopping Centre, the historic façade still stands at the heart of St Anne Square, a familiar landmark for generations of locals.
And now, it’s getting a new chapter, with burgers and fries on the menu! No official opening date has been announced just yet, but keep an eye out – from the signs being set up outside, it seems like the new Burger King Sliema is gearing up to welcome customers very soon.
