From Carnival crowds to a herd of sheep! Check out this photo of a wholesome Gozitan moment
A rare sight in today’s world!

This weekend, Gozo was buzzing with life as thousands flocked to Nadur for the iconic spontaneous Carnival. But while the streets were packed with partygoers, one photo making rounds on social media is a beautiful reminder of Gozo’s quieter, rural charm!

Wendy Eldridge shared a heartwarming snapshot in the Facebook group ‘Island of Gozo’, capturing a herd of sheep strolling through a street in Qala – the island’s easternmost village, just a stone’s throw from Nadur. Surprisingly, there’s no sign of a farmer in the photo, making it seem like these sheep were simply out on their daily walk, knowing precisely where to go!

Many commenters reminisced about how scenes like this were once a common sight in both Malta and Gozo, though they’ve become much rarer today. Moments like these are a beautiful glimpse into the island’s slower, more traditional side – a stark contrast to the lively Carnival celebrations happening just nearby!

Have you ever come across a sight like this?
