Puttinu Cares’ traditional Good Friday midnight walk returns this week and Malta Public Transport will be operating a series of dedicated shuttle services for the occasion.

With thousands of people set to take part in the 17km charity walk from Mellieħa to Floriana, sorting out your commute way in advance is key.

Participants can travel from Floriana to Mellieħa by catching a bus from the vicinity of the Publiju bus stop, where a controlled boarding area will be set up.

Event personnel will verify the Puttinu Cares tickets prior to boarding.

The first bus is set to depart at around 8:30pm, with services running continuously throughout the evening until around 10:40pm, subject to demand.

This free, dedicated service forms part of Malta Public Transport’s commitment to support community initiatives and national events.

Puttinu’s charity walk has become a key part of Malta’s Holy Week cultural calendar, raising a record €113,700 last year.

You can apply by filling the online form, where you can also make a €10 minimum donation and book transport for the day.
