Showers should hit the islands as early as Monday 10th October.
It seems like we’re finally set to get a proper taste of autumn…
Local weather page It-Temp Madwarna is predicting that the first thunderstorms of the month will hit the islands next week – and we couldn’t be more excited.
According to the Malta International Airport’s (MIA) seven-day forecast, the weather is set to remain practically unchanged throughout this week, with nothing but ‘partly cloudy’ skies and highs of 25°C and 26°C predicted until Sunday 9th October.
Having said that, this dry spell is set to be broken on Monday 10th October.

MIA says that the day is set to bring about isolated showers, which will extend over to Tuesday 11th October.
It-Temp Madwarna’s predictions somewhat reflect the ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ Facebook page’s forecast for October 2022’s “two separate episodes of instability”.

The latter page said that Malta should be hit with a “period of isolated showers around mid-month, and potentially widespread rainfall towards the end of the month.”
Having said that, this same platform also noted that October 2022’s temperatures will be around average, if not slightly warmer than average, and that the first half of the month is likely to be “very dry”.
Are you looking forward to some autumnal thunderstorms?
