Fashionistas assemble – Giancarlo Giammetti, the co-founder and honorary president of Valentino, one of the world’s most iconic luxury fashion houses is in Malta!

He built Valentino from the ground up alongside designer Valentino Garavani in 1960 and played a crucial role in building the brand into a global fashion powerhouse. He worked with and built relationships with countless fashion icons and celebrities, including Princess Diana, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn.

Little is known about his reason for coming to the island, as he’s simply shared a photo of himself in front of the Triton Fountain just by the entrance of Valletta, captioned ‘Malta!!!’ He might be here for business or simply to enjoy the fashion choices made at this year’s Carnival – keep an eye out for him!

Have you spotted the fashion icon roaming Malta’s streets?
