This Christmas season, even your daily commute can make a difference! Malta Public Transport is once again inviting the public to take part in ‘Tallinja għal L-Istrina’, returning for its ninth edition on Saturday, 20th December.

Held in collaboration with the Office of the President, the initiative supports L-Istrina by raising funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF). On the day, Malta Public Transport will make a donation for every single passenger journey, including trips made through the free public transport scheme.

Since its launch in 2016, Tallinja għal L-Istrina has already contributed over €336,000 to the Malta Community Chest Fund, and this year, every bus ride taken on 20th December will help push that total even further.

So whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends, or ticking off some Christmas shopping, hopping on a bus this Saturday is a simple way to give back this festive season.

Will you be travelling by bus this week?

16th December 2025
