Heritage Malta invites visitors to welcome the winter season at the breathtaking Mnajdra temples with a rare sunrise experience on the weekend of 20–21 December.
On the year’s shortest days, guests can witness the remarkable alignment of the Neolithic south structure, where the first rays of sunlight illuminate a decorated megalith - a phenomenon believed to have helped ancient agricultural communities mark the changing seasons.
This unique event offers a blend of history, nature, and cultural insight, with limited places available to ensure an intimate and enriching visit. Tickets, priced at €35 (€25 for Heritage Malta members), may be purchased online or from any Heritage Malta site, with participants gathering at 6:15am at the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Visitor Centre.
