'The Beach' is reminiscent of deep primordial longings, so often present in Buttigieg’s works. It is evocative of perennial motifs, which hauntingly strike into one’s soul. The series moves from tribal elements to the artist’s Mediterranean roots which are always vividly evident.
'The Beach’; a series of paintings by Gabriel Buttigieg; exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts, Gdansk Poland (October 2019) can be viewed at Splendid, Valletta from the 18th - 25th of July.
