More than a mere collection of paintings, this project encapsulates much of who Gabriel is, and what his art is about. In a total takeover of the Splendid, each of these works was made with the specific space, context and history, firmly in mind.
Narratives for Postmodern Love, is a visual essay that portrays the way we love, and also, perceive love, in the 21st century: confusing, multi-layered, complex, raw, uncertain... lonely, painful and fearsome.
This collection, perhaps more than ever before, is an intimate series in which Gabriel unleashes his deepest seethed emotions on surface after surface, after surface. The narratives unfold, and with them so do his emotions, in which we will all, decidedly, see a reflection of our own.
