Lecture

Have you ever wondered how the scientific names of creatures are created?

If yes, and you are 14 years or older, Heritage Malta, is inviting you to an interesting evening lecture at the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina, on Wednesday, 12th March 2025.

In ‘Melitensis’, we will explore the intriguing system of biological nomenclature used by scientists to name and classify organisms, focusing on species named after Malta or its localities. In this way, we will learn more about the fascinating connection between taxonomy and the rich heritage of the Maltese islands.

The lecture will start at 18:00 and will be delivered in English.
