For the first time in Malta, Heritage Malta presents The Disasters of War — an extraordinary exhibition of Francisco Goya’s harrowing etchings that capture the brutality of the Peninsular War (1808–1814). Opening on 4th November at the Grand Master’s Palace, this exhibition showcases 80 powerful prints that portray war not as heroism, but as human tragedy. Created between 1810 and 1815, the series remains one of art history’s most unflinching commentaries on violence and suffering. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience Goya’s timeless and profoundly relevant vision.
