Tucked within the hushed grandeur of the Silent City, Mdina’s St Paul’s Cathedral will come alive this June with a unique concert to mark the start of summer. A Midsummer Dream is where the romantic beauty of classical music meets the evocative power of great poetry. As the sun marks the rhythms of time and God's creation flourishes, summer itself becomes the muse - its warmth and abundance expressed through music and voice. The historic cathedral will be filled with an uplifting celebration of the season’s arrival. Inspired by this spirit, works by the greats, including Mozart, Rachmaninov, Debussy, and Vivaldi, will be performed by the acclaimed Cordia String Quartet under the musical direction of Jacob Portelli, joined by one of Malta’s most distinguished sopranos, Miriam Cauchi. Adding a literary heartbeat to the performance, esteemed actor Mikhail Basmadjian will bring the words of poets such as Shakespeare, William Blake, and Rużar Briffa vividly to life.
