Opening on Sunday 7th December from 11am to 2:30pm, Dominique Ciancio’s latest exhibition explores the voice of the sea and its deep connection to Maltese identity. Titled ‘ĊAFĊIF’ — an onomatopoeic Maltese word that evokes the sound of splashing water — the collection reflects on memory, heritage, and the island’s timeless relationship with the sea.
Through expressive brushstrokes and figurative scenes featuring swimmers and traditional boats, Ciancio transforms the sea into a reflective mirror, exploring themes of belonging, vulnerability, and Malta’s evolving narrative. The result is a meditative and luminous body of work that invites visitors to pause, look deeper, and reflect.
