Drivers, take note! These are the roads that will be closed next Sunday morning for the Malta Marathon
Plan ahead if you're going for a Sunday morning drive

If you’re planning to be on the road this Sunday February 23rd, take note - several key roads across Malta will be temporarily closed between 7 AM and midday to make way for the highly anticipated Malta Marathon 2025.

Transport Malta has released an advisory marking the areas to avoid, as runners will be making their way from Rabat to Sliema, passing through Ta' Qali, Attard, Birkirkara, Santa Venera, Marsa, and Msida. Some of the main roads affected include Triq ix-Xatt (Sliema waterfront), Triq Marina (Msida), Triq Dicembru 13 (Marsa), Triq l-Imdina (linking Santa Venera, Attard & Rabat), as well as various internal roads within Ta’ Qali National Park.

Expect detours and possible traffic congestion in these areas, so if you're heading out, leave early and plan alternative routes. Of course, if you’d rather soak in the excitement, why not step outside and cheer on the runners as they take on this gruelling challenge?

Will these closures affect your Sunday plans?
