Don’t panic! Full-scale emergency exercise at Malta Airport on Tuesday 19th November
Several emergency vehicles will be stationed around the airport perimeter

Travelling next week? Malta International Airport has made a public announcement that a full-scale emergency exercise will take place on Tuesday 19th November 2024 in the evening, from 7pm onwards. This exercise is being performed to bring together all entities required to respond to a real-life emergency scenario at Malta International Airport.

Such full-scale exercises are carried out in line with the requirements of the relevant international and European regulations, with the aim of determining the level of preparedness of all entities to respond to a crisis, as well as testing the communications systems and emergency resources in place.

The MIA has advised passengers travelling on the day that this exercise will not affect their journey, reminding the public that unusual activity, including several emergency vehicles around the airport perimeter, should not be cause for alarm.

Will you be travelling on the day?

15th November 2024
