Martina Darmanin

Local artist Martina Darmanin will be displaying her work in her first solo exhibition, starting on the 12th of July, at ‘Il-Kamra ta’ Fuq’ in Mqabba, an exhibition venue that has become synonymous with new and upcoming art.

As the title suggests, ‘Domestic Bloom’ centres around the home, and the various ways its beauty can blossom. The artist uses textiles, ceramics and botanical motifs to express the ways in which we bring nature into our homes.

Martina Darmanin is an artist who works mainly with painting, printmaking and sculpture. Her work on this exhibition began with an exploration of her homeland and its environment.

She has participated in several collective exhibitions, such as those held at Splendid (2021), Societa Dante Alighieri (2021), Malta School of Art (2022 & 2024) and at San Anton Palace (2022).

The exhibition is curated by Melanie Erixon, and will be open from 12th July till 4th August. Keep up to date with the opening hours of Il-Kamra ta’ Fuq each week via their Facebook page.
