Deluge ahead, Malta! Friday’s showers could match the entire March average rainfall – in one day
Looks like Mother Nature is making up for lost time!

Although today’s sunny skies make it hard to believe, Malta is in for a serious downpour this Friday. Forecasts suggest anywhere between 25mm to 40mm of rain, which is almost the entire monthly average for March (45mm) in just one day!

Strong winds between forces 5 and 6 are also expected to be coming in from a southeasterly direction, so careful if you happen to reside or be passing through any coastal areas, particularly in the east of Malta!

This dramatic weather shift is due to a storm system currently developing over Morocco and Spain, making its way towards Tunisia before finally reaching Malta. So, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

Be prepared for a wet and windy end to the first week of March!
