Cute! Lucky the hedgehog released back to the wild after months of rehabilitation
Lucky was rescued back in March.

Emma Galea

Lucky the hedgehog was rescued last March in Marasalforn, Gozo after suffering from a severe strimmer injury.

His skin took a long time to grow back healthily again and Nature Trust was not quite sure if he would even make it, but he thankfully did.

After months of rehabilitation and care, he was released back home where he could continue living his life in the wild.

A big thanks to our Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation volunteers, as well as our vet Dr Pierre Camilleri for his ongoing veterinary care”, Nature Trust.

We wish Lucky all the best out in the wild!”, they continued.

Nature Trust also reminded its audience that if mechanical grass trimmers or strimmers are to be used, it is necessary to do a quick check of the area beforehand and check for any wildlife.
