Unsettling discoveries! Explore Qormi’s Cave of the Crosses, a spot shrouded in mystery
Avoid visiting this cave when it’s raining.

In one of his videos, local vlogger-explorer Angelo Caruana teamed up with his friend, Vince Bonello Pukka, to check out the mysterious Cave of the Crosses in Qormi.

It’s easy to miss out on this spot, as the cave’s small entrance is well-hidden beneath wild bushes and plants.

Inside, the cave is extremely dark, so Angelo and Vince recommend bringing along your own light source if you’re planning on visiting.

When compared to other caves scattered around the Maltese islands, Qormi’s Cave of the Crosses stands out thanks to a number of bizarre hand-dug features scattered inside.

Together, said features make the cave resemble the bone structure of a rib cage – creepy, right?

The origin of these markings is still a mystery, although many assume that the cave was once used as a place of worship, with the hand dug markings serving as decorative replacements for traditional columns.

The cave’s main opening leads to another two chambers which, in turn, lead to other chambers. As interesting as it would be to explore this complex extensively, one should note that the structure isn’t totally stable and is prone to flooding when it rains.

Also – arachnophobes should avoid this cave at all costs, as Angelo and Pukka came across a couple of spider nests hanging from the ceiling…

Have you ever visited this cave?
