Creative spirit shines! 64 cribs to participate in Malta's National Crib Competition
Honouring a festive tradition cherished for centuries!

Applications for the National Crib Competition have officially closed, with an impressive 64 participants selected to display their creative talents across various categories. These include Large Mechanical Crib, Large Static Crib, and the typical Maltese Crib.

There will also be categories based on the size of ‘pasturi’ within the crib - the figurines that bring each 'presepju' to life. One category focuses on locally crafted 'pasturi' measuring between 1cm and 20cm in the small to medium cribs, and another for those exceeding 20cm in the larger cribs.

This year, technology will play a role in helping crib enthusiasts seek out the workshop in which each crib is displayed, via a QR code showing a map of Malta pinpointing the location.

Each location displaying the cribs will be open to the public from Monday 16th December till Sunday 5th January 2025, between 5.30 PM and 8.30 PM from Monday to Sunday. On Sundays and public holidays, visitors can also see the cribs between 10 AM and midday.

The competition not only challenges participants to push the boundaries of their creativity but also celebrates a centuries-old Maltese Christmas tradition - don't miss it!
