Could restrictions be lifted by summer? Prof. Charmaine Gauci responds
The PM expressed tentative hopes for a 'normal' summer earlier today

Earlier today, Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed his tentative hopes for a pleasant summer for Malta and Prof. Charmaine Gauci addressed this situation directly during today's press conference.

In a replying to a query from a local journalist, Prof. Gauci confirmed that the measures currently being taken are a contingency plan whose effectiveness depends majorly on the public: "If we have public cooperation, this may be possible," she said. in reference to the Prime Minister's comments.

During the press conference, Prof. Gauci highlighted the importance of following health directives by minimising social contact and staying inside unless absolutely necessary.
