The Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC) has announced that Sean Borg took home gold after placing first at the Malta to Syracuse Offshore Yacht Race, which took off last Saturday.

Aside from this prestigious achievement, the Jubatus team also scooped a handful of trophies, including the RMYC IRC Trophy – overall winner, the Easy Perfection Trophy for overall winner in the ORC Class (another rating system on which sailing performance is based) and the RMYC Trophy for the first Maltese Boat in IRC.

The Malta Syracuse Offshore Yacht Race is one of the oldest races of the Mediterranean. It was started in 1952 by John Illingworth, a famed sailor in the British Navy, and holds a prominent role in Mediterranean sailing history.

The 80 nautical mile race starting location alternates each year, this year starting at Tigne Point in Malta and finishing in Syracuse.

Well done to the Jubatus team!
