Congratulations! Film produced and set in Malta wins big at the prestigious Swedish Guldbagge Awards
Guldbagge is the official Swedish awards film ceremony.

‘Shame on Dry Land’, a Swedish film that was partly produced by the Maltese company, Pellikola and was also set in Malta has won a total of seven awards at the prestigious Swedish Guldbagge awards ceremony.

The film centres around a conman who leaves for Malta in order to surprise a friend for their wedding but instead he becomes deeply involved and gets in trouble with the Swedish online gambling community.

During the Swedish Guldbagge awards ceremony, which is the official Swedish awards film ceremony, the film took home the awards for:

Best director – Axel Petersen

Best actor – Joel Spira

Best supporting actor – Christopher Wagelin

Best Cinematography - Josua Enblom

Best editing – Robert Krantz

Best original score – Baba Stiltz

Best Sound/Sound Design - Andreas Franck

The Maltese producer that worked on ‘Shame on Dry Land’, Oliver Mallia took to social media to commemorate such a special day.

“This achievement is the result of the tremendous efforts of some of Malta's best heads of departments: Production Designer Jon Banthorpe, Sound Recordist Aleksandar Bundalo, Make-up and Hair Designer Jackie Grima, Casting Director Edward Said, First AD Beppe Abela, UPM Elaine Bonello, Location Manager Slacko Vukanovic, Gaffer Oliver Agius, Key Grip Marvin Shead and and the entire crew. Many thanks to everyone involved, and I look forward to sharing the film with you in the coming weeks”, Oliver expressed.
