Clear skies? Sun shines over Malta but rain remains possible later today
Yesterday’s rainfall was quite unevenly distributed over the islands, with showers in some localities and none in others

Francesca Vella

The sun shone brightly this morning after the stormiest night Malta has seen in a while, but the island isn’t out from under the rain clouds just yet! Weather page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’ gives a 50% chance of rain over some localities on the island in the afternoon, so those enjoying the stormy weather can remain hopeful!

Maltese Islands Weather confirms the possibility of some isolated showers in the afternoon, so keep an umbrella handy just in case.

The page has also posted a diagram showing the uneven distribution of rain over the island, with some localities like Fgura getting a whopping 15mm of rain, while others like Birzebbuga got no rain at all.

The humidity levels have shot up due to the rain, even reaching 100% at some instances! But on the bright side, yesterday’s strong winds should have calmed down completely by tonight, so a more serene evening should be expected weatherwise, compared to yesterday’s drama in the skies.

Are you enjoying the sun today after yesterday’s storm?
