It has been announced on WhosWho.mt that the American investor Tad Smith, known for his former position as CEO of the luxury brand Sotheby’s, became a shareholder in Malta’s largest craft brewery, Lord Chambray, based in Xewkija, Gozo, back in 2022.

Founded in 2014, Lord Chambray was the first craft brewery to launch in Malta, overcoming the challenges posed by the island’s climate and terrain. The brewery is named after Fort Chambray, a historic bastioned fort situated in Ghajnsielem, Gozo.

Lord Chambray offers a diverse range of flavors, including vegan and gluten-free beer options to cater to various dietary needs. A recent LinkedIn post featured a photo of Tad Smith alongside CEO Samuele D’Imperio, highlighting a productive day spent discussing future strategies for the brewery.

Samuele D’Imperio noted that the brewery's immediate focus is on continuing to provide craft beers on a local scale. While they have collaborated with notable craft breweries such as Denmark's To Øl, Italy's Baladin, and Taiwan's Taihu Brewing, they have yet to begin providing the Gozitan taste of their craft beer to beer-lovers overseas.
