The baritone’s talent in operatic singing has been welcomed all around the world

This Saturday 6th July, the Santa Luċija square in Gozo will be filled with dulcet tones, as local baritone Charles Buttigieg will be performing operatic masterpieces, Neopolitan and Maltese classics and other popular songs, in the third edition of 'Charles Buttigieg in Concert'.

The baritone, who hails from Gozo himself, will be accompanied by several other local talents, including new talent Ilyas Ige Sultana, American mezzo-soprano Katherine Dobbs, soprano Miriam Cauchi, X-Factor judge and singer Gianluca Bezzina, and Schola Cantorum Jubilate. All the voices will sing to the music performed by a live orchestra under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci.

Charles Buttigieg is an established name on the opera scene both locally, having recently accompanied Joseph Calleja and Andrea Bocelli in the Christmas Special in Malta last year, and internationally, sharing his talent across the continents with operatic performances in Philadelphia and Florida.

The local baritone, even at the young age of 25, already seems to have a bright future ahead of him too. Starting in September 2024, Charles will be based in Florence as a Mascarade Opera Artist and performing at Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Teatro Pergola (Florence), the Royal Opera House (London) and other partner houses in Germany.

While entrance to this night of music will be free, attendees will have the opportunity to donate to The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

Will you be attending this edition of Charles Buttigieg in Concert?
