Tenishia Thornton and Kim Camilleri Lagana have been dominating the weightlifting scene with incredible performances on the international stage, and their successes have been sealed with a Platinum Award – the highest accolade at the Malta Weightlifting Awards.

Recognised at the awards was also Nathan Mifsud, taking home the Achievement Award for breaking the most national records, with Rylee Borg and Tenishia Thornton taking second and third, respectively. Nathan’s incredible year didn’t stop there - he also won the Silver Award for high rankings and the Most Improved Athlete Award, where he shared the spotlight with Mia Sant and Nathan Balzan.

In the Bronze Award category, Rylee Borg, Aaliyah Gatt, and Kaya Curmi Inguanez were celebrated for their impressive accomplishments. New talent was also in the spotlight as Gabriel Frendo won the Promising Athlete Award, while Kenzy Geriwa earned the Most Improved Newcomer title.

These awards are a reflection of the dedication, talent, and passion within Malta’s weightlifting community, and they continue to set the bar (pun intended!) even higher for the sport.

Congratulations to all the winners!
