Celebrating excellence! Three popular Gozo beaches retain their Blue Flag status for summer 2024
The three beaches are Ramla l-Ħamra, Ħondoq ir-Rummien and Marsalforn.
Three renowned beaches in Gozo have proudly retained their Blue Flag status for another year: Ramla l- Ħamra, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, and Marsalforn. These awards recognise their exceptional standards in water quality, environmental management, education initiatives, and beach safety.
Joining their ranks, this year, is Xwejni beach, newly awarded the "Beach of Quality" designation, marking a significant milestone towards potential future Blue Flag recognition.
The Blue Flag is not merely a symbol but a commitment to uphold high standards. Gozo's commitment to quality and excellence is set to expand the list of recognised beaches in the future.
In a move to enhance accessibility, four new amphibious chairs have also been introduced across the designated beaches. This free service, available daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm, enhances inclusivity and convenience for all beachgoers.
Previously limited to Ramla beach, this initiative now extends to Xwejni, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, and Marsalforn, further enriching the beach experience on the island.
These efforts underscore Gozo's dedication to environmental stewardship and visitor satisfaction, ensuring its beaches remain pristine and accessible to all.
