Camping, cooking and cliffside views! Local vlogger sets off on a Maltese outdoor adventure
Local vlogger Pierre Farrugia recently shared another outdoor adventure, this time camping at one of his favourite spots, the scenic Aħrax tal-Mellieħa cliffs. After a stretch of poor weather, Pierre finally seized the opportunity to head outdoors, carefully securing the necessary permit and committing to a ‘leave no trace’ approach.
Upon arrival, he set up a small tent along with a tarp shelter to guard against any unexpected rain, especially as his planned meal required slow cooking. As the sun began to set, Pierre prepared a traditional Maltese dish - bragioli.
Admitting he is no expert in the kitchen, he sought advice from his partner Sharon, whose tips helped him bring the dish to life. The rich aroma of the simmering stew filled the campsite, making the effort worthwhile.
As temperatures dropped, the hearty meal proved perfect for the chilly evening. Pierre rounded it off in true Maltese style by mopping up the sauce with fresh Maltese bread. After a restful night surrounded by nature, he woke up to breathtaking cliffside views and prepared a simple but authentic breakfast: ftira biż-żejt paired with peppered Gozitan cheese.
Before leaving, Pierre dismantled his camp and ensured the area was left spotless. As always, he ended his vlog by highlighting the importance of responsible camping, encouraging others to respect nature and lead by example.
Will you be going camping this spring?
