Boats, lights, music, action! Valletta’s Pageant of the Seas to wow crowds again this June
This will be the fifth edition of the biannual show

Francesca Vella

The Grand Harbour will once again be the backdrop to the ‘Pageant of the Seas’ event organised by the Valletta Cultural Agency that takes place every two years and has delighted multitudes every time.

The main highlight of the evening will take place at 9pm - 80 traditional Maltese boats will parade around the harbour to a soundscape created by Maltese musician Cyprian Cassar.

This year’s edition is themed ‘Save the Sea’, and will feature an animated narrative created by Mad About Video and based on a script by Jean Pierre Magro, projected onto Fort St Angelo.

The attending crowds will be in for a treat, as the grand finale will spotlight a spectacular water fountain show by Aquatique Show, made known for their work in the opening act of the Qatar World Cup in 2022 and in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The show will be synchronised to another original composition by Cyprian Cassar, and is guaranteed not to disappoint.

Plan ahead to find a good viewing spot for this breathtaking show – the recommended place to be is Quarry Wharf at the Ta’ Liesse area.

Will you be attending the Pageant of the Seas?
