Malta Contemporary Art was founded in 2008 in Malta as a geographically specific contemporary art project by artist and curator Mark Mangion. MCA established itself as a leading forum for contemporary art in Malta, collaborating with over 100 artists in over 20 exhibitions and projects including Simon Starling, Cyprien Gaillard, Spartacus Chetwynd, Douglas White, Jess Flood-Paddock & Haris Epaminonda.Between 2011-2015, it operated as a roving project entitled Parallel Borders presenting projects in several European cities and in 2017 MCA opened a new gallery in Valletta and is presently representing 5 international artists.
