Attention! Shuttle service, bus diversions and road closures for Mellieha’s festa weekend
Make sure to plan ahead if you’re travelling to Mellieha’s village feast!

Ahead of the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady happening this weekend, the Mellieha Local Council has announced the transport arrangements in place for the 6th to the 8th of September.

A shuttle service will be available between bus stops along Triq il-Kbira, continuing through Triq Edward Camilleri and Triq Louis Wettinger (the Mellieha Bypass). The service will operate between 5pm and 2am on Saturday 7th September and between 5pm and midnight on Sunday 8th September.

Those travelling via route buses should note that those coming from Xemxija going to Cirkewwa will be passing via Mellieha Bypass (Triq Louis Wettinger), and on reaching the roundabout in front of the new petrol station, will turn right onto Triq Edward Camilleri, toward the Elderly Home to serve the temporary bus stop that will be situated there. The diversion route will continue towards Cirkewwa by returning to the Mellieha Bypass and continuing towards Ghadira, without serving the centre of Mellieha. This diversion applies to the following bus routes: 41, 42, 49, 101, 221, 222, 250 and X1.

Finally, those travelling by car should note that Gorg Borg Olivier Street will be closed to traffic at the times listed below.

Friday 6th September: 3.45pm – 11.30pm

Saturday 7th September: 3.30pm – 10.30pm

Sunday 8th September: 11am – 10.30pm

Will you be visiting the Mellieha feast this weekend?
