Artist Julia Borg blooms at The Phoenicia Malta with the summer exhibition ‘Inner Garden’
Step into a world that's in full bloom!

This summer, The Phoenicia Malta is once again blossoming with colour and emotion, as local artist Julia Borg returns with her latest solo exhibition, ‘Inner Garden’ – a soulful, deeply personal collection rooted in emotional growth, creativity, and presence.

Running until 31st July at the hotel’s Palm Court Lounge, ‘Inner Garden’ marks a poignant turning point in Julia’s creative journey. Her new body of work offers a lyrical glimpse into a year defined by openness and meaningful human connection.

That light is expressed in every canvas, with bold, expressive floral forms painted while the artist enjoyed the rhythms of jazz. Her process includes mixing colours directly on the canvas, resulting in a palette of lush greens and radiant magentas. The artworks, rendered in mixed media using both acrylic and oil, carry the weight of layered emotions, textures, and time.

Through her art, Julia attempts to convey a message that is both personal and universal: ‘Tend to your inner garden. Be present. Create with intention.’

In a symbolic gesture, Julia also wore a dress she sewed herself on the exhibition's opening night – her first ever sartorial creation. ‘It wasn’t about the outcome,’ she says, ‘but about the process – the act of creating something simply because I felt drawn to it.’

‘Inner Garden’ is an intimate invitation to witness what happens when an artist truly blooms – and encourages her audience to do the same.

Will you be there?
