‘Are you up for good Italian food?’ – Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo opening restaurant at Mercury Tower
The restaurant is set to open in 2024.

During a press conference held at Mercury Tower, it was revealed that the Italian celebrity chef known for his television antics on British television is opening a restaurant at Mercury Tower.

This will be the first international restaurant that he has over opened up outside of England.

He revealed that he is hoping the restaurant will be done some time in April and will be ready to welcome visitors by spring or early summer. 

When asked why he chose Malta out of all places, he revealed that since he was a little boy he “always considered Malta to be a close family member” as to him the two countries share a lot of similar values.

“I already absolutely love it [Malta]”, he explained.

“What we are going to serve you is proper traditional Italian food”, he passionately expressed.

He jokingly said that the restaurant will no be compromising any traditional Italian recipes and will not be accommodating you if you ask for cream and mushroom in your carbonara.
