A few days ago, is-Servizz Pubbliku’s Facebook page took its audience to a delightful trip down memory lane, sharing a nostalgic memory from Malta’s past.

The post included a snapshot of an application, dated 29th May 1931, showcasing Simonds Farsons Ltd’s application to register a bottle of mineral water. This application was given to the Public Service.

The vintage document not only reveals a long-lost time but also reflects the enduring legacy of Farsons, a name synonymous with quality beverages.

L. Farrugia & Sons, known as Farsons, started their journey in Malta in the late 1920s, building their first brewery in Hamrun. The first locally brewed beer, Farsons Pale Ale was launched on the 19th of April 1928, only a few months after the Hamrun brewery was set up.

The throwback photo also provides a fascinating glimpse into the meticulous steps taken by businesses to establish their trademarks.

What's your favourite Farsons beverage?
