A toast for Malta! Delicata celebrates double bronze wins at Decanter World Wine Awards in London

Delicata Winery has clinched two prestigious bronze medals at the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) in London, marking a significant achievement for Maltese wine on the global stage.

The awarded wines, the 2023 Grand Vin de Hauteville Viognier DOK Malta Superior and the Medina Vermentino Zibibbo DOK Malta Superior stood out among tough competition, impressing judges who are renowned Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers. This recognises Delicata’s commitment to producing exceptional wines that showcase Malta’s terroir with finesse.

Matthew Delicata, the winemaker, expressed immense pride in the accolades, highlighting the DWWA's esteemed reputation as the 'Olympics of wine competitions'.

The Decanter World Wine Awards, now in its 21st year, attracts an international panel of 243 leading wine experts from 33 countries, ensuring a rigorous evaluation process. Delicata’s success not only enhances its global reputation but also reinforces Malta's position on the world wine map.

The awarded Grand Vin de Hauteville Viognier 2023 captivated judges with its fruity aroma of apricots and peaches, while the Medina Vermentino Zibibbo 2023 impressed with its floral notes and crisp palate.

These accolades add to Delicata’s impressive collection of 145 international awards, solidifying its status as a leader in Maltese winemaking.
