A spectacle in the skies! Majestic migratory birds captured flying around Buskett
These raptors, the first migratory birds, were observed by BirdLife’s birdwatchers.

As the seasons change and nature's rhythms follow their course, a remarkable spectacle unfolds in the skies. BirdLife Malta recently captured the majestic raptors roaming around the Maltese skies.

These incredible photos capture the graceful arrivals of the first migratory birds, namely the Marsh Harriers (Bagħdan Aħmar) and the Honey Buzzards (Kuċċarda) flying around Buskett.

These birds of prey are returning, a prelude to their grand migratory journey. While their peak migration is still weeks away, their presence reminds us of their power and vulnerability.

In a world where they reign supreme as top predators, these raptors face a formidable adversary: us, humans. As they embark on their long voyage to their wintering havens in Africa, they encounter countless perils posed by our activities. BirdLife insists that it falls upon us to ensure their safe passage.

What a sight!
