A full transformation! Rundown green area in Wied iż-Żurrieq to be turned into coastal garden
The garden is set to be a serene area alongside the Maltese coast.

Emma Galea

What was once an almost abandoned green area in Wied iz-Zurrieq is now being transformed in a peaceful coastal garden.

Ambjent Malta are currently planning to plant many beneficial plants that are typically found alongside coastal areas.

However, they first have to remove the many invasive and non-native species that have took over the area.

So far, they have removed two whole tonnes of Invasive Alien species, some of which included what is locally known as Swaba tal-Madonna (Carpobrotus acinaciformis).

The garden seems to be looking way better already!
