Dwayne Micallef and Emma Lautier have done incredibly well at Taekwondo European Kids Championships happening in Belgrade, Serbia.

Dwayne who is only 7 years old, brought home the gold for Malta while Emma who is 8 years old brought home the silver.

To get that gold, Dwayne first won against his opponent from Azerbaijan in the semi-final and then again won the fight against Switzerland in the final.

Emma comfortably won against Slovenia in the semi-final but narrowly lost the fight against Ukraine. Nevertheless, she is still coming to Malta with a silver medal around her neck.

This was the first time in Taekwondo history that a Maltese athlete won a medal at the continental stage.

Well done champs!
